Shaela Nuur - Page 2

During the hunt, Shaela found that she and Duron shared certain feelings for each other beyond the bonds that united them as Jedi. These feelings were personal. Naive to think that Guun Han and even the Jedi Masters on Dantooine and Coruscant were unaware of their close relationship, the two were blissful in their ignorance. In reality, the other Jedi did suspect Shaela and Duron were closer than the Jedi Order allowed. However, as long as their relationship did not get in the way of their duties the other Jedi were content to act ignorant themselves. On Dantooine, after the hunt had been declared over, Shaela, Duron, and Saresh learned that rumors still existed of a terentatek on Korriban.

The Jedi Council knew the threat had to be dealt with, but the pull of the Dark Side on Korriban made the mission especially dangerous. Knowing of Shaela and her group's special bond, they felt the three would be able to support each other in resisting the Dark Side and completing the mission. With this mission, the Jedi headed to the Dreshdae spaceport on Korriban. A seedy settlement sprung up following the Sith War, Dreshdae was filled with Sith archaeologists and settlers with limited Force-potential hoping to gain access to the recently created Sith academy. In Dreshdae, Shaela and the Jedi followed leads that would hopeully take them to the lair of the terentatek.

Unfortunately, the Sith world pulled at the minds of the Jedi. Duron Qel-Droma began being plagued by apocalyptic visions of death, the reemergence of the Sith, and the Jedi once again thrust into war. As Shaela found herself concerned for Duron, Guun Han accused the two of letting their feelings for each other get in the way of their duties. Shalea accused the Twi'lek Jedi of being arrogant and the three found themselves fighting amongst each other, behavior unbecoming of a Jedi. Guun Han felt that their differences were irreconcilable. During his time spent on Dreshdae, Guun Han learned the terentatek to be in the Valley of the Sith Lords. He also learned of another terentatek rumored to be on Kashyyyk. Feeling their bond to be broken, Guun Han left Shaela and Duron with access to the valley and departed, never to be seen again.

With the search of the terentatek coming to a close, Shaela and Duron made their way into the Valley of the Sith Lords. Deep within the valley, in the darkness of the catacombs lit only by the lightsabers of the two Jedi, Shaela and Duron finally had their prey. But without the teamwork the Jedi had once known, the terentatek proved too great a foe. Duron was the first to fall, the terentatek disappeared into the darkness after he broke the Jedi's body. Shaela held Duron as he lay dying. With a final declaration of her love, Duron Qel-Droma passed into the Force. Driven by rage and vengeance, Shaela pursued the terentatek into the tomb of ancient Sith Lord Naga Sadow. It would seem that the darkness that ran throughout the planet had finally claimed Shaela as well. Within the tomb, Shaela found more than one terentatek to face. When the beasts emerged, Shaela shut off her lightsaber, and let them come.
